Join us at the ITS World Congress

Nowadays, with the rapid development of urban infrastructures, smart devices,  and the increasing digitalisation of transport systems, large amounts of  data are collected across all transport authorities. These diverse data sets are  defined as “big urban data” containing rich information which are all key to  create new mobility services with positive impacts on society.

White paper: Open MaaS

The future of mobility is smarter, more sustainable, inclusive and open

What is MaaS?

In plain English, Mobility as a Service, or MaaS for short, is a type of service that enables users to plan, book and pay for multiple types of mobility services through a seamless digital channel. The concept shifts away from consumer-owned modes of transportation and towards mobility provided as a service.

The key concept behind MaaS is to offer travellers the best-value proposition in terms of mobility solutions, based on their actual mobility needs. This is enabled by combining transportation services from public and private transportation providers through a unified gateway that creates and manages the trip, which users can pay for with a single account.  At the base of the concept is communication and data exchange between the various mobility operators.

Less than 90 days to implement free transport in Strasbourg

Strasbourg City Hall decided to implement free public transportation for young people under the age of 18 living within the city. The project was entrusted to the Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois with a dual challenge: to deploy a sustainable, but also streamlined, system in an extremely tight timeline. This was a major challenge that led the CTS to call on Sopra Steria to help them develop a solution that would be fully operational by the deadline.

Commute
With more than 15,000 new inhabitants every year, the attractiveness of the Toulouse metropolis is affecting road congestion in the entire conurbation. Traffic projections are clear: up to 500,000 additional daily trips in 2025, compared to 4 million in 2015, including 265,000 for only the airport area. This considerable increase means that tomorrow's urban mobility needs to be designed today. This is the challenge of the Commute collaborative mobility management project.
